*GASP*
It was pitch black and I, out of nowhere, found myself confined inside a claustrophobic box. Splinters that seem to come from wood was stabbing and scratching on my skin. I panicked and started banging on the wood.
I know that I shouldn't be panicking, but my instincts to break the wood was far greater than being calm and rational.
My mind was blank and the only thing I could think of was getting out no matter what. I continue banging until I could feel dirt coming from the cracks of the wood.
*CRACK*
I felt the wooden lid collapse on me and a pile of dirt was now resting on me. I tried my best to claw my way out, even swallowed dirt in the process. I clawed and clawed until I felt a cold breeze run past my hands.
I was finally out! I tried my best to grab onto something and found a solid stone. I started coughing when I reached out. The cough was painful to the point that blood came out of my mouth.
I gasped and felt relieved as oxygen started entering my lungs. It felt cool, that was when I realized that it was raining. I was surrounded by mud and insects. I tried rationalizing what just happened.
"Was that a coffin?" I looked back down the hole that was now covered back in by mud. I was processing my surroundings when I noticed how the stone I was holding was shaped. I looked at the object that I was holding onto.
"Myrtle..." I read aloud. It took me a few seconds before I processed everything that just happened.
"I f*cking came to life!?" I opened my eyes wide and shouted. This was another shocking news.
Not long ago, I transmigrated as a dead spirit following a man around, and NOT LONG AGO, I realized that I was inside a novel and the man I was following around was the villain!
I groaned and cussed to my heart's content as I thought back on how I came to this point.
The first thing that came to mind when I was allowed to go out with a nurse was to visit the local food stand that I used to eat in when I was still working.
I was enjoying the food on the table and reminisce the times that I could still walk, and no one, in this universe, no one would've thought that a big *ss truck would ram me towards the building and crush me to death.
At least that's what I think, I couldn't remember anything after hearing the loud sound of the truck horn and blacking out.
"A miserable life paired with a miserable death." I sighed to myself as I lie down on the mud filled grass.
'No one told me that dead people go inside novels!' I thought that I'd have to wait for the judgement day and go to heaven or hell!
The novel I was in was my most hated reads. I hated it to the point that it stuck with me ever since. It was basically about a doe-eyed princess from another country named Anastasia.
.
.
.
"R-Ruse, please stop crying." Anastasia ran towards Ruse and knelt in front of him trying to make him stop.
"Don't leave me, please Ana. You're the only one to treat me this way!" Ruse held the hem of her skirt and looked up at her.
"I'd never leave you Ruse, why would I?" Anastasia, who thought that he was cute, wasn't aware that this seemingly innocent attachment of his, was instead an ugly obsession.
She thought that the weak man before him was innocent as a new born.
"You're despicable! Get away from me!" Anastasia lashed on Ruse and even scratched his face in the process. When she saw how fast the wound healed as if it disappeared out of thin air, her intuition and doubt was proven.
He was indeed a monster, a demon that deceived her. She feared for her life as she thinks back to their first meeting.
Anastasia saw a beaten up man that looked like a slave in the back alley of a theater. Her heart pounded at how delicate and beautiful the man was.
She was filled with pity when he saw his state. He had bruises all over his body, a large gash on his right shoulder, and a black eye. He was the definition of "dirt".
Anastasia thought back to that day, he was badly beaten up, how was he not able to heal as fast as he did just now? It just cast fear unto her eyes, she was deceived, deceived for years and she was oblivious to all of it.
She only started questioning the sudden deaths that happen around her when she finally saw Ruse's eyes flash a dangerous red glint. It was ugly obsession.
"My Ana! I could shower you with endless riches, jewels, dresses, and gold!" Something snapped in Alexander which caused him to show the loose hinges within him, show his "broken" state.
"I have the ability to give you what humans cannot, I can give you eternity! You will never wilt like a flower and live forever." His eyes, who she thought to be endearing and lovable, was now disgusting and scary for her.
She never knew that the man she helped was none other than Alexander Rusian Holstein, the worst being to exist.
.
.
.
She made Alexander reliant on her.
"I'll kill myself, I can't survive without you Ana. My world will crumble apart." Alexander guilt-tripped her to following his commands and began hurting himself, even though he can regenerate in mere seconds.
He was desperate for Anastasia, her love, her mind, her body, everything. And that can only work for long. Soon, Anastasia broke from his manipulation and hypnosis.
The male lead, Lancelot, the 1st prince of the Nivelle kingdom came to save her. She and Lancelot met during their childhood days, way before the conflict between the two kingdoms even began.
"If I can't be by you, no one else can."
Alexander, who couldn't accept the fact that Anastasia was stolen from him, returned to his emotionless state, a bloody tyrant. He began manipulating the nobles from the Nivelle kingdom to side with Eternite or known as the demon's kingdom.
A 10-year-long war broke out, and when it seemed that the demons are winning.
The tables were turned when Anastasia came to Alexander herself and surrendered. Anastasia tried to gain his trust for a year and was successful. Then the day of "the betrayal" came.
"*cough* You finally had the courage." Alexander knew, he knew all along that Anastasia used herself as a bait to kill him, yet he didn't do anything, he still wanted to trust his lovable Anastasia 'til the very end.
Alexander coughed blood. Anastasia smiled at him, but not the smile he knew.
She was complacent to his demands, and so was he, though she wasn't the same as before as he gradually killed everyone around her, Alexander would accept anything as long as it's Anastasia.
Even if it broke her, Alexander kept Anastasia in his castle like a caged bird. He never knew that his death would be by Anastasia's hands.
And maybe, because of the years of possessiveness and obsession, he smiled in a twisted way back at her. He was excited and happy that he died by her hands.
"If I can't be by you, no one else can."
Alexander held Anastasia's neck and gripped it. He recited a spell that slowly enveloped Anastasia.
Her eyes began to cry blood and her neck which was gripped by him turned dark, and the darkness that began on her neck slowly spread on her whole face and body. Before her last breath, she heard Alexander say a word.
"Ah, my Ana. No one else can have you..."
Alexander who saw Anastasia suffering laughed his heart out. The holy artifact that was slowly killing him, and his spell that was slowly killing Anastasia made him excited.
"No one else can, but me."
As he finished his sentence, he obsessively kissed Anastasia. He hugged her now dead body and laughed heartily.
Tears can be seen from his eyes, his desperate and sad eyes. Even until Alexander's death, he still gripped Anastasia's dead body as if she'll be stolen at any moment.
.
.
.
It was a sad and crappy story, and now, I'm stuck in that same sad and crappy story.
"What the f*ck am I supposed to do now!?"
