Chapter 25 – Abuse (2)

Chapter 25 – Abuse (2)

3rd POV

“Hit me again! Show your son and everyone what you truly are.”

Everyone, including the servants of the household, were standing like stones from the argument they just heard between the two. Demi’s shout was soon followed by silence.

Victor, who was shoved to the side, couldn’t believe what he just heard.

‘Is, that why all her things are gone?’ Victor thought to himself. His father told him that he hid it all in the farthest room located at the second floor. He never bothered to check since he didn’t want to reminisce the days that she was still there.

‘Father didn’t hide mom’s stuff to forget the pain, he threw it all out to forget the things he’s done to her.’ Victor thought to himself as he soon realized the truth.

“That’s right, you’re nothing but a coward! That’s what you truly are!” Demi exclaimed once more. She didn’t know where all the built up anger and frustration came from, but she let it out all at once.

‘I’m not even Yvonne.’ Demi thought to herself as she pondered why her heart felt all the pain and the longing that Yvonne once had, it was too much pressure that it made her tear up. Victor who saw this, couldn’t compose himself anymore and cracked an unnoticeable pained smile.

“You’re nothing but a g*d damn coward, and you know that yourself.”

“You have no right to judge what I do and what I did! We’re not talking about me; we’re talking about you! You fucking stole from the headmaster and they have evidence!” Michael, who seem to have the thickest skin of all, didn’t even have the gut to consider what her daughter has said to him, her emotions, her anger, and her feelings.

Michael was so cowardly that he didn’t want to face what the truth was; what Yvonne has said. He kept denying that it was his fault and stood by it like a fool.

“You didn’t even think about what I just said, did you?” Demi, who realized just how f*cked up this family is, couldn’t believe it anymore.

It was always about her, always about Yvonne. Whenever something bad happens, it was always thought of as Yvonne’s doing. Demi realized just how bad Yvonne had it, how bad they both had it.

Demi looked to the right towards Victor who was just standing there doing nothing.

‘Don’t tell me you’re the same?’ Demi thought to herself as she eyed Victor and scoffed at him. It was unbelievable how these two, who were considered to be the best of the best in their respective fields, were nothing but cowards who hide behind their pride.

“Don’t even talk to me about that stealing bullsh*t if you don’t have a solid enough evidence to use against me.” Demi walked past them and up the stairs.

She already had an idea on what Michael was talking about. Nova had told her earlier about the missing things from the pink purse. She had a hunch that it was the said “proof” of her stealing important documents from the headmaster’s office.

When Demi was collecting her emotions, the two idiots stood still in front of the mansion entrance. Demi didn’t give two sh*ts about what they’re going to do next anymore and proceeded to the isolated room on the third floor.

*SNIIFF*

“I’m sowwie, I’m showie Demi…” Nova’s voice was muffled from his sniffling and blocked small nose. He was sticking to Demi’s slapped face which had turned dark red.

“I can’t even understand what you’re saying.” Demi said as she sighed and sat down on the bed. Nova has already numbed the pain after she was slapped hard.

“I-I…I couldn’t protect you…” Nova hiccupped like a child whilst crying and hugged her on her neck even more. Nova removed the light-headed feeling and the swelling from her face, although he couldn’t erase the mark on her face completely due to his lacking abilities, he tried his best.

“I’m sowwie, I’m really sowwie. I couldn’t act faster!” Demi couldn’t understand what Nova was saying anymore as he had buried himself in her hair.

“Stop crying, I’m used to it anyways.” Demi said trying to calm Nova down which made him cry even more.

“WAH~ W-why would you get used to it!” Demi flinched at the sudden wail from Nova.

“My aunt used to do worse than this so stop crying now, my head is starting to hurt.” Demi said. She looked at Nova who was crying, it looked like he was the one slapped hard and not her from his state right now.

“I…I just couldn’t believe how Yvonne and I had a somewhat similar childhood. I thought that wealthy people like her never really had any problems to begin with. I can’t believe that I was nonchalant at what others were saying to Yvonne since it had nothing to do with me.”

“I…I’m not living my own life anymore, I’m living in Yvonne’s world, her reality. And I was too prejudiced thinking that I could just do whatever the hell I want since Yvonne lived her luxurious life all this time.”

“I was wrong.” Demi frowned. She loathed herself for what she just did. Her attitude towards everything, she didn’t take anything seriously, she didn’t take matters properly since after all, it was not her body.

Demi realized another thing once more. That she couldn’t act the same, she shouldn’t act the same. This was not her reality, she was in a different place, in a different body. Semi can’t be reckless anymore.

She was starting to realize what situation she was in. The people in this reality aren’t just leads, they have “lives”, they have suffered through problems, they’ve experienced many things as well. Demi was shameful that she just realized it now.

She was just treating everyone like they were NPC’s in a game that have a role that they have to fulfill.

“I’m sorry Yvonne. I’m sorry.” Demi whispered to herself as she and Nova lied down in bed. Time ticked fast and as if the feelings from earlier were forgotten for a moment, Demi fell asleep.
